Frequently Asked Questions
Who pays for the apprenticeship fees?
The fees are covered by the LEVY, which is funding allocated solely for apprentices. There are no additional costs to the practice.
What does the practice pay? Just the salary as per a normal job?
Yes, the practice is responsible for paying the apprentice's salary.
Is this to attract new staff or for staff already in post?
It can be both! You can advertise a position as an apprenticeship to enhance recruitment for available roles.
It's as simple as that! Greenwich Training Hub is promoting this to you on behalf of SEL.

Ruth Keel
Greenwich Training Hub Programme Lead
As the Training Hub Programme Lead, I specialise in designing training and education for all primary care staff in the Borough of Greenwich. My strong skills are building rapport, organising large scale events, and consulting on Wellness.
My NHS background is in change, lean and project management. In the past I have held roles as a Senior Sister and Clinical Nurse Specialist. These experiences give me a unique view of patient and client satisfaction, organisational development and have shaped the way I approach the design and delivery of complex projects.
In my roles as a senior member of the nursing and commissioning teams, I have led the development and implementation of multiple, high-level projects across the NHS. Each role I have undertaken has rewarded me with greater responsibility and the opportunity to assess, design, and shape the delivery and provision of care.
I am a confident public speaker and I enjoy mentoring, facilitating and supporting teams and individuals. I am driven, focused and adopt a creative approach to creating education for Primary Care staff.
