Manor Brook Medical Centre is a busy 12,500 patient training practice located in Kidbrooke in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. They are actively involved with Primary Care in the borough, with clinicians working within the local PCN, LMC, training, appraisals and the local health federation. They’re a welcoming and sociable bunch, with a philosophy of providing high standards of patient-centred medical care.

The practice is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated supervisor to lead reception services and any associated practice administration. This is a permanent contract working between 30 and full-time hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role is practice based and does not allow working from home. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the entire reception team and its associated functions, in accordance with practice agreed procedures, protocols and time-scales. Other duties will include overseeing all administrative tasks assigned to reception, delegating and monitoring of clerical workloads on a daily basis, and dealing with more complex enquiries from patients including informal complaints relating to reception functions. Working closely with the Practice Manager, the post holder will ensure that adequate staffing levels are met, organising rotas and cover for both clinical and non-clinical staff members, as required. They will also be responsible for overseeing the induction of new, locum or temporary staff at the point of their arrival. They will promote a harmonious and professional atmosphere amongst colleagues and provide regular evaluations of both individuals and team performance.

Candidates will need to display strong leadership skills and team building capabilities, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software and rota scheduling systems. The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple tasks. With a strong belief in providing the very highest standards of customer care, patient engagement and liaison will be at the forefront of this role, including the support and promotion of the practice’s Patient Participation Group, patient awareness events and on-line access options. Experience of working in a GP practice or a similar medical environment is preferred.
